Today we recorded my vocals for the last two songs. With a day to recover from the previous studio session all went very well. I was enthusiastic and fully motivated again and did not mind instructions and repetitions. No stress. Time for the Xmas break.

We discussed the next steps and when to call in the girls doing the background vocals. We also like to ad bits and pieces here and there, such as bottle neck guitar for one track, a 12-string guitar for another. No way, though, doing so during Xmas and New Year as Nigel’s wife demands some family time. Rightly so, I think. So happy Xmas to all of us. Let’s continue in 2017. Until then I will listen to the existing music files several times to find out by how far I am happy with what we have recorded so far and where changes need to be made.

For my German friends:

Heute galt es die uebrigen zwei Lieder einzusingen. Mit einem Ruhetag zwischen den Studiotagen ging diesmal alles leicht ueber die Runden. Ich war wieder voll motiviert, enthusiastisch und so guter Dinge, dass kein Stress aufkam.

Und nun ist es Zeit fuer die Weihnachtspause. Wir haben noch die naechsten Schritte besprochen und wann die Background Saengerinnen dazu kommen sollen. Auch wollen wir noch etwas Bottle-Neck E-Gitarre hier und ein wenig 12-saitige Gitarre dort einbauen. Zwischen den Jahren laeuft da aber nichts mehr Im Studio, da Nigel’s Frau auf Zeit fuer’s Familienleben besteht. Recht hat sie. Also dann bis ins naechste Jahr.

Bis dahin hoere ich mir die neuste Version aller bisherigen Aufnahmen genauer an, um zu sehen, inwieweit das bisherige Ergebnis meinen Vorstellungen entsrpicht und wo ich noch nicht zufrieden bin. In 2017 geht es dann ans Fine-Tuning.
