Here’s our latest music video. We re-recorded an older song of mine last year and then made a music video for it. It is meant to be an homage to a) a poet from FNQ who passed away many years ago and b) to the paradisaical scenery I called home for over 10 years before I moved to Brisbane. And there’s a beautiful story behind all of this:

I met Jack C. several times at Home Made Jam, sort of a house music event for local musicians and poets. As I usually played original songs mainly Jack asked me one day if I could use some of his work for new songs. “Wide awake but dreaming of Queensland” was the poem that stuck with me most and so I wrote the music for it.

By the time it was finished Jack was hospitalized and unfortunately died before he could hear the song. I recorded the song and gave it to his wife and the local radio station was happy to assist in spreading our short lived collaboration. Wherever I played this song from here on, people loved it.

So when finally finding wonderful musicians in Brisbane the song was re-recorded last year. And when Phil from In The Wild Films offered to use footage of great shots of FNQ’ landscape the door to make a music video in addition was wide open. My good friend Paul, an ex film maker and editor and my band mate Pete in his little studio then made it happen.
