I just returned from an expedition in the Great Barrier Reef. Once a year for a short time dwarf minke whale, a whale type usually living in solitude, gather for 3- 4 weeks at the reef and probably socialize of some sort. The are a very curious species and once they feel safe the check out snorklers hanging at a rope. I was lucky and had one whale coming as close as 1 meter for 3 times. What an experience. My song “Eye to Eye” tells about such an adventure and encounters with minke whales. Check me out on www.myspace.com/frankkfrikker

I will now work on a video clip to upload on youtube with the footage taken by various people during the trip. copyright of image: John Rumney; see http://www.marineencounters.com.au
